Christmas in the Adobes
Friday, December 12-13, 2025 at 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Return to the days of Alta California and see Monterey’s historic adobes splendidly decorated for the season with welcoming, candle-lit luminarias at each entrance! Enjoy festive music, living history portrayers, and the warm spirit of this year’s annual celebration that has become a family favorite during the holidays.
Over a dozen adobes located throughout Monterey’s historic downtown open their doors for the festivities from 5 pm until 9 pm.

The Arthritis Research Coalition brings back Pacific Grove’s annual holiday run for arthritis! Run Rudolph Run, presented by Monterey Spine and Joint, is a fun and festive way to raise awareness and help defeat arthritis.
Our 1K kids’ fun run and our 5K timed or untimed run/walk are great ways to bring friends, family, dogs, and the community together to kick off the holiday season while decked out in your favorite attire!
First Night Monterey

Join us to ring in the New Year with an unforgettable celebration in Monterey, CA that attracts people from around the world. The multi-award-winning annual First Night Monterey 2026 is a very special, family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration in historic downtown Monterey. Advance discounted buttons are available for purchase. Monterey’s First Night celebration will give families a great way to ring in the New Year.
Join us for the Twilight Procession as we enjoy the lights, the magic, and the joy of First Night into the New Year! It’s a Mardi-Gras-style walking parade that begins at Portola Plaza and moves down Alvarado Street to Pearl Street, featuring bands, dance groups, large-scale movable sculptures, puppets, and costumed people. Successful elements include height, sound, lights and glow-in-the-dark materials. The Twilight Procession also serves as the finale for Kids’ Night Out!
The Twilight Procession includes Art Cars, there are murals to take selfies by, and the Resolution Sculpture are just a few of the artful projects awaiting First Night’ers.
